SHARON, Pa. – Senior Austin Goehring posted a strong round of golf for Geneva at the Thiel Invitational hosted on Monday at the Avalon at Buhl Country Club. A total of nine schools and 11 groups of players competed at the invitational, with the Golden Tornadoes finishing in a tie for 7th overall with a team score of 316, just two strokes out of fifth place.
Goehring was solid throughout the round, carding four-over par score of 74, which placed him 9th out of the 60 golfers competing. Junior Ryan Edwards shot a 77, which placed him 16th overall, while sophomore Linkoln Gundacker was the third finisher for the Golden Tornadoes, carding a 79. Junior Owen Bouscher rounded out the top four for Geneva by shooting an 86.
The men will return to action next Monday at the W&J Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational, hosted at the Southpointe Golf Club. The first golfers are set to tee off at 11:00 a.m.
