ELLWOOD, Pa. – Junior Ryan Edwards was the top finisher for the Geneva College men's golf team as the Golden Tornadoes hosted the Geneva Spring Opener on Monday afternoon at Connoquenessing Country Club, the men's first competition of the spring season. Bethany and Waynesburg also took part in the round, with Geneva's A group placing second with a team score of 323, six strokes behind Bethany's A group.
Edwards finished his round by carding a 77, which was tied for the third best score of the 24 golfers competing. Senior Austin Goehring shot an 81, sophomore Linkoln Gundacker an 82, and junior Samuel Palombia rounded out the top group by carding an 83.
The men will return to action next Monday when they take part in the Thiel Spring Invitational.
