Kennedy Named Geneva Golf Coach

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Geneva College Athletics Department announced on Thursday that a familiar face to the Golden Tornadoes will be taking over the Geneva men's and women's golf program as coach, Henry Kennedy.  Kennedy will be taking over the reins of the program from Barry Borza, who coached the golf teams during the spring semester.

Kennedy is most known around Geneva's campus for his work with the track and field teams.  He graduated from Geneva in 2019 with a degree in Sport Management and a minor in coaching.  Kennedy was a member of the track and field program as a sprinter and a javelin thrower for four seasons, including the beginning of the men's program's seven straight Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships.

After graduation, Kennedy entered the higher education program and became a graduate assistant with the Geneva track and field program.  A member of the National Guard, Kennedy was deployed to Africa for a year in December of 2020 before returning to resume his work as a coach on the track and field team at the beginning of the recently completed spring semester.

Kennedy has been an avid golfer since he was five years old and is excited to bring his experience to the program.  He also plans to continue on with his role as a graduate assistant for the men's and women' track and field program.

"I'm really looking forward to getting to work with both our men's and women's golf teams," says Kennedy.  "There is a lot of potential on both teams, and I hope to continue to build the program for future success.  I am excited to see what both these teams can accomplish in the future.  I also feel blessed to be able to continue to work alongside so many strong and experienced coaches in the Geneva athletics department."
