GREENVILLE, Pa./LEWISBURG, Pa. --- The Geneva men's track & field team sent the majority of its squad to the Thiel Tomcat Invitational, while distance runners
Carmen Medvit,
Hailey Carroll, and
Madison Castro ran at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.
Several Golden Tornadoes placed in the top-8 in events at Thiel.
Emma Parnell earned two top-8 finishes on the day. She placed fifth in the Triple Jump with a leap of 10.66 meters and seventh in the Long Jump at 5.10 meters.
Ellie Bates also placed in the Triple Jump at 10.12 meters for seventh place.
In other field events,
Alayna Wilkins finished sixth in the Pole Vault at 2.21 meters, while
Allison Standish placed eighth in the Shot Put with a throw of 11.02 meters.
On the track,
Naomi Swartzbaugh earned sixth place in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 17.07 seconds. She also ran the first leg of the fifth place 4x100-Meter Relay with
Anne Holdeman,
Emma Parnell and
Favour Oladapo. They ran a time of 52.38.
Medvit set a Geneva record in the 10,000 Meter Run late Saturday night with a time of 37:14.71 at Bucknell. The previous record was 38:10.10 set by Dee Koutsourais in 2007. Carroll and Castro competed in the 1,500 Meter Run.
Geneva will compete at Baldwin-Wallace on Saturday, April 22 in its final meet before the PAC Outdoor Championships on April 27-28 in Morgantown, West Virginia.
