YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Geneva College men's and women's track and field teams returned to Youngstown State on Friday for their second meet of the semester, competing with 27 other schools, including multiple NCAA Division I and Division II schools, at the YSU Collegiate Invitational.
Graduate student
Jack Garvin brought home the best finish, clearing 2.00 meters in the high jump to tie for second place in the seeded group consisting primarily of Division I and Division II jumpers.
Junior
Kevin Arseneaux made his first appearance on this track this season after a strong cross country season, and he placed ninth in the seeded mile with a time of 4:25.91.
Junior
Desmond Lewis had another good day in the sprints, finishing the 60-meter dash in 7.30 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 22.84 seconds. Freshman
Evan Groce ran well in the 800-meter race, breaking two minutes with a time of 1:59.44. Sophomore
Eli Eisenberger turned in a strong performance in the 5000-meters with a time of 15:49.96.
Senior
Noah Foust led the men in the throws with efforts of 13.11 meters in the weight throw and 12.63 meters in the shot put.
For the women, sophomore
Hailey Carroll made her first appearance on the track this season after a breakout cross country season, and she placed fifth in the mile with a time of 5:14.17. Junior
Madison Castro ran well in the 800-meter race, finishing with a time of 2:26.89.

Saige Musser had another strong day in the sprints, running the 60-meter dash in 8.23 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 27.70 seconds.
In the jumps, sophomore
Emma Parnell finished sixth in the triple jump with an effort of 10.55 meters, while she also jumped 4.65 meters in the long jump. Freshman
Daphne Alexander added a seventh-place finish in the high jump by clearing 1.42 meters.
Sophomore
Allison Standish was the top finisher for the women in the throws, placing 10
th in the weight throw with a toss of 13.29 meters, while she placed 14
th with a throw of 10.56 meters in the shot put.
The teams will return to action next Saturday when they travel to Baldwin Wallace.
