Football Set to Appear on KDKA Three Times in 2024

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – As the Geneva College football team prepares to report back to campus in a little over a week and start working towards the start of the upcoming season, the Golden Tornadoes will also have the knowledge they'll get some good coverage during their season, highlighted by the team appearing on KDKA three times.

Last season CBS Pittsburgh covered a limited number of local high school and Division III college football games, with the games appearing on the local KDKA+ TV station along with live streams on CBS News Pittsburgh's website and KDKA.com.  Geneva was fortunate to appear twice last season on KDKA, including a victory at Allegheny early in the season, and this year the Golden Tornadoes will appear three times on KDKA as the network increases its coverage of Division III football.

Geneva's first appearance on KDKA will be in its season opener at Grove City on September 7, at 1:00 p.m., as the Golden Tornadoes travel to take on the reigning Presidents' Athletic Conference champions who are coming off their best season in school history.  The Wolverines went through the 2023 regular season undefeated and won a game in the NCAA Division III national tournament before falling by one point to the eventual national champions, Cortland.

Geneva's second appearance on KDKA will be two weeks later when the Golden Tornadoes host Thiel on September 21, at 7:00 p.m., in Geneva's home opener on Reeves Field.  The Golden Tornadoes are currently riding an eight-game winning streak against the Tomcats.

Geneva's final appearance on KDKA will be late in the season when the Golden Tornadoes host rival Westminster on November 9 at 1:00 p.m.  That game will also be the date Geneva inducts its 2024 Hall of Fame Class, consisting of 16 individuals, who will each be honored during halftime of the game, in addition to the Hall of Fame banquet hosted later in the day after the completion of the football game.
