NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Geneva College men's and women's track and field teams split up on Saturday, with most of the team traveling to Muskingum, while four members headed to the Spire Institute to take part in a meet.
Senior Kevin Arseneaux highlighted the performances on Saturday. He was one of the members who went to Spire, and there he won the mile race in a time of 4:15.17, defeating 100 other runners.
Graduate student Jack Garvin also competed at Spire, where he finished seventh in the high jump by clearing 1.90 meters, while also running the 60-meter dash in 7.23 seconds.
At Muskingum, junior Allison Standish was the top finisher, placing fifth in the weight throw with an effort of 14.03 meters. Freshman Audrey McAlister placed seventh in the 3000-meters with a time of 11:35.51. Freshman Olivia Seetoo finished eighth in the high jump by clearing 1.51 meters, freshman Sara Vos placed ninth in the 60-meters with a time of 8.35 seconds, and freshman Emma Thellman placed tenth in the pole vault by clearing 2.51 meters.
For the men, freshman Ethan Haring placed seventh in the mile with a time of 4:33.31, while finishing eighth in the 800-meters with a time of 2:03.78. Freshman Nate Gray was close behind in the mile, placing eighth in a time of 4:35.32.
The teams will be back in action next Saturday with a meet at Mount Union.
