BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – After scoring two goals last week, including the game-winner at Thiel, and assisting on another game-winning goal, freshman forward
Msafiri Amisi was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Newcomer of the Week on Monday afternoon. He has now scored goals in Geneva's last three games.
It didn't take long for Amisi to get in the scoring column in the Golden Tornadoes' victory over Thiel on Wednesday, as he dribbled past multiple defenders and unleashed a shot from 30 yards out that found the back of the net in just the second minute of play. It ended up being the game-winner for the GTs as they held strong defensively en route to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Tomcats.
Against Hiram on Saturday, Amisi again scored the first goal of the match, striking in the 21
st minute to send Geneva in front. Hiram evened up the score right before the half, but Amisi slotted a nice pass up to sophomore
Luke Main, who put away the would-be game-winning goal. Across the week, Amisi took 12 shots total, with six hitting the target and two reaching the back of the net. He has been a force to be reckoned with in the GTs' attack over the last two weeks, hitting his stride just before the PAC playoffs arrive.
The Golden Tornadoes head to Chatham for their next match, busing down to Pittsburgh on Wednesday, October 22
nd for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff with the Cougars.
