Edwards’ Strong Round Leads Men’s Golf on Day Three of PAC Championships

BOARDMAN, Ohio – Sophomore Ryan Edwards posted a career-low round on day three of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships on Friday, leading the Geneva College men's golf team as the Golden Tornadoes sit in fifth place overall after three rounds.  As a team Geneva shot 305, which is the third best round in program history.  Friday's round was played at the Mill Creek Metroparks South Course, with the first two rounds of the championships being played at the end of the fall semester.

Edwards carded a 73 on Friday, which tied him for the fifth best round in program history.  He finished his round with eight straight pars, and his total was tied for the fifth best performance on the day.  Junior Austin Goehring and senior Timothy Ehko each shot a 77, while senior Joshua Hido carded a 78 to round out the top four.

Combined with the first two rounds of golf played in the fall, Goehring is sitting in ninth place overall, while Edwards is sitting in tie for tenth overall in the individual standings, just a stroke behind Goehring.  Hido is tied for 18th overall, with 35 golfers competing in the championships.

The final round of the PAC Championships will be played tomorrow on the same course, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
