WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The majority of the Geneva men's golf team traveled down to Greene County Country Club Monday afternoon to participate in a dual match with the Waynesburg University Yellow Jackets. However, Geneva's top two golfers, senior
Austin Goehring and junior
Ryan Edwards, went to Saint Vincent College to play as individuals in the Saint Vincent Invitational. Without those two present at Waynesburg, Geneva wound up falling to the Yellow Jackets 314-360.
Graduate student
Mark Rachic was the top performer for the men at Waynesburg, shooting an 84. That score placed him fifth overall at the dual match. Following him up on the Geneva scoresheet were junior
Owen Bouscher (90), freshman
Wyatt Hervey (91), and junior
Samuel Palombia (95). Sophomore
Linkoln Gundacker also traveled with the team, carding a 99.
Both Goehring and Edwards struggled at Saint Vincent, shooting 90 apiece. Each player got off to a rough start and couldn't find their rhythm as the round continued.
The men will have to wait until September 22
nd to play again, when they travel to Wildwood Golf Club to compete in the La Roche Invitational.
