BOARDMAN, Ohio – On the final day of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships, the Geneva College men's golf team shot a 312 to finish in sixth place overall. Their score of 1,251 was the program's lowest in the Championships since the PAC switched to a four-round tournament in the 2022-23 season. Junior
Austin Goehring was the top finisher for the men, carding a 75, while two other Golden Tornadoes carded scores under 80 as well. The Allegheny College Gators won the title for the second straight year, finishing with a team score of 1,185.
Goehring's 75 brought his total score over the four rounds of the tournament to 303, tying him for fifth place overall out of the 36 qualifying PAC golfers. As a top five finisher, he was named to the All-PAC First team, the first time in his career he's received all-conference recognition.
Sophomore
Ryan Edwards carded a 77, finishing tied for ninth place at the Championships. After averaging a 78 over his two rounds in the Fall Championships, he averaged a 75 across the final two rounds yesterday and today to land a spot on the All-PAC Second Team.
Senior
Michael DeMiere finished third for the men, shooting a 79 for his best round of the Championships. Seniors
Timothy Ehko and
Joshua Hido were right behind, each carding an 81 to wrap up Geneva's scorecard, while Hido finished tied for 22
nd-place over the course of the four-round tournament.
The Championships represented the final collegiate tournament for DeMiere, Ehko, and Hido, three players who have been with the Geneva golf team since the school decided to restart its program in the 2021-22 season. They have all been strong contributors to the team since their freshman seasons and will be greatly missed.
