SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Geneva College men's and women's track and field teams were prepared for a day of heavy rain on Saturday at the Slippery Rock Dave Labor Invitational, and despite some rain and wind, the Golden Tornadoes avoided the worst of the conditions predicted to put forth some strong performances. The meet was one of the biggest of the year for Geneva, with 36 teams participating, including several Division I and Division II schools.
Senior
Kevin Arseneaux was the top finisher for the Golden Tornadoes at the very competitive meet, placing third out of 99 runners in the 800-meters with a time of 1:53.55. Graduate student
Jack Garvin added a sixth-place finish in the high jump behind only Division I and II jumpers, clearing 1.95 meters.
The men's 4x100m relay team finished seventh with a time of 43.56 seconds. Seniors

Seth Tyson and freshman
Jaden Duckett ran on the team. Lewis ran also ran a good race in the open 100-meters, finishing with a time of 11.18 seconds, while Tyson set a personal record in the 400-meters with a time of 51.78 seconds.
For the women, freshman
Audrey McAlister ran a strong race in the 5000-meters, finishing with a personal best time of 19:04.45, which placed her eighth overall. Geneva's 4x100m relay team of senior

Arionna White finished ninth with a time of 52.28 seconds.
Sophomore
Daphne Alexander had a strong day. She cleared 1.45 meters in the high jump and ran 16.93 seconds in the 100m hurdles.
In the throws, freshman
Kyla Parks had a good day in the discus, throwing 33.36 meters. Junior
Emily Garvin threw the javelin 33.00 meters while also running 13.92 seconds in the 100-meters.
Vos and White also ran a strong races in the 100-meters, with Vos finishing in a time of 13.00 seconds and White 13.58 seconds.
The track and field teams will be back in action next weekend at Westminster.
