BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Senior middle-distance runner
Hailey Carroll is off to a blazing hot start this semester for the Geneva track and field team, breaking a school record for the second week in a row this past Saturday. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) honored her for her performance on Tuesday afternoon, selecting her as the PAC Track Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row. It is the third weekly award of her career.
Carroll won the mile race at the SPIRE Midwest Collegiate Open on Saturday afternoon, breaking the school record in the event with a time of 5:00.42. She defeated a number of Division I runners in the race and now holds the top time in the PAC in two different events, the mile and the 3000-meters, setting a new school record in the indoor 3000-meters race last weekend at Muskingum. Her mile time is fourth-best in the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region so far this year and ranks 22
nd nationally.
Carroll and the rest of the Geneva track team will return to action this upcoming weekend as they compete in the YSU Mid-Major Invitational.
