BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Just two days after the Geneva women's lacrosse team won their first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match in program history, one of the key contributors in that match won the program's first-ever PAC in-season award. The PAC released its weekly honors on Monday afternoon, and Geneva senior defender Hannah Skwarek was named the PAC Defensive Player of the Week for her performance over the weekend.

In the Golden Tornadoes' 8-6 victory over PAC-opponent Thiel on Saturday, Skwarek finished with a team-best six caused turnovers without turning the ball over herself once. She also picked up four ground balls and scored one of Geneva's goals, with the latter coming early on in the match to put the women ahead 2-0. The senior also won one draw control and placed two shots on target in the win.

The GTs look to continue their momentum when they return home to play Allegheny this Wednesday, April 22, at 4:00 p.m. They will then host Hiram in the season finale the following Saturday.
