BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Senior Sophia Tvaroch was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week on Monday after her strong week in the circle last week in which she helped Geneva to four straight victories.
Tvaroch opened the week with a game on Monday against Thiel in which she pitched five innings in a 9-4 victory over the Tomcats, allowing just three hits and two unearned runs, while striking out three.
The following day, Tvaroch put together one of the best performances of her career when she pitched a complete game shutout against Waynesburg on Tuesday, who entered the game as one of the top offenses in the conference. Tvaroch pitched all seven innings while giving up just four hits, striking out eight Yellow Jackets in a 3-0 Geneva victory.
For the season, Tvaroch is tied for second in the PAC with a 1.40 ERA while compiling a 6-2 overall record. She's allowing just a .183 batting average against her, tops in the PAC.
