Smalley Finishes Career with Fourth Straight First Team Award

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -  The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) announced its men's tennis postseason awards Tuesday afternoon, and two members of the Geneva men's tennis program were recognized for their performance this season. Senior Braiden Smalley earned First Team All-PAC honors for his singles play, as well as Honorable Mention recognition for doubles. One of his primary doubles teammates this season, sophomore Ben Busler, also received Honorable Mention All-PAC honors for both singles and doubles play.

Smalley closes out the greatest four-year career in the history of Geneva's men's tennis program by being named to his fourth consecutive All-PAC First Team. He has been named to the First Team for singles every year of his career, while also being a First Team doubles player in two of his four seasons. The senior finishes out his time with the Golden Tornadoes as the program's all-time leader in singles victories, amassing 32 across his four seasons. He is also second on Geneva's all-time doubles victories list, winning 32 doubles matches, the most by a Golden Tornado in a four-year career.

Busler was named an Honorable Mention All-PAC selection in both singles and doubles, making it the second consecutive year to start his career that he has received all-conference recognition. He played every match at No. 2 singles for Geneva, while landing in the top doubles flight for most of the season.

In addition to Smalley and Busler, junior Thayne Bodenmiller was also recognized by the conference on Tuesday with a spot on the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
