Men's and Women’s Volleyball Earn AVCA Academic Awards

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Geneva College men's and women's volleyball teams were both honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for their work in the classroom, receiving the AVCA Team Academic Award.  This is the sixth straight year the men have received this award, and the women have received this honor 13 times over the last 16 seasons since joining NCAA Division III.

In order to receive this academic award, programs must maintain a team grade point average of at least 3.3 over the prior school year.

Both programs had multiple student-athletes also recognized on the Presidents' Athletic Conference honor roll this year, which requires a 3.6 GPA or better.  A total of nine members on the men's team received this individual honor, while the women had ten players named to the PAC honor roll.

Through purposeful learning in a community reflecting the full spectrum of God's kingdom, a Geneva College experience inspires students to discover a faith-life calling in service to God and neighbor. Offering 195+ traditional undergraduate majors and programs, fully online Adult Degree Programs and high-demand graduate degrees, Geneva's programs are recognized for their high quality and affordability. Geneva was founded and is governed by the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America (RPCNA) and is a founding member of both the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) and the International Association for Christian Education (IACE).
