LATROBE, Pa. – Coaches and player representatives from across the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) gathered at Saint Vincent College on Tuesday afternoon to take part in the PAC's annual Football Media Day. Representing Geneva was new head coach Tom Contenta and senior defensive lineman Coltin Hill, both of whom were participating in the event for the first time. At the conclusion of the event, the PAC released its preseason poll, voted on by coaches, sports information workers, and media personnel, and the Golden Tornadoes were picked to finish fifth overall in the conference, receiving 339 points total. Last year's champion, W&J, earned 497 points and 37 of the 46 available first-place votes to secure the top spot in the poll.

Geneva finished the 2025 season with a 6-5 record overall, going 6-2 in PAC play, and the GTs returned to postseason play for the first time in over 15 years by earning a bid to the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl, where they lost to SUNY Brockport. It was the best season in a long while for the Golden Tornadoes, who return eight of 11 starters on the defensive side of the ball, as well as five starters on offense, including All-PAC quarterback Caleb Romano.

"Everybody sensed the urgency [last season]," said Contenta, speaking at his first PAC Media Day since being hired as head coach during the offseason. "They could see what we were building towards, and we took the step from just being competitive with people to actually winning some of those close games. A lot of that had to do with the leadership from this year's strong senior class, but we also have a ton of strong guys in this year's junior class. We're excited to have those two classes back because they've really helped put us over the top."

Coach Contenta had been a long-time assistant coach for the Golden Tornadoes, joining the staff after his graduation from the College in 2006, but has now taken over as head coach following the stepping down of former coach Geno DeMarco, who had been the Geneva head man for 33 years. Hill got the chance to speak about Contenta's impact on the program.

"Coach Contenta's been my guy since day one," said the All-PAC defensive lineman. "He recruited me out of high school. All the guys love him – he's been able to build relationships with everyone. During spring ball, he always had at least six guys in his office just hanging out, getting to know each other. I'm really excited to see the new dynamic he brings to the team."

When asked about Geneva's strong returning class on defense, Hill responded: "Having eight returners coming back is great. We've been able to build trust and chemistry together, and a culture. Having that in-game experience is going to be big for our success."

The Golden Tornadoes open their season on Saturday, September 5^th, when they host Widener University on Reeves Field. PAC competition begins for them on September 26^th with a road game at Bethany College.
