BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – One day after competing in his first ever collegiate tournament, freshman golfer Chris Brown was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) men's golf Newcomer of the Week Tuesday afternoon. His impressive performance at Westminster was the top effort of any freshman at the tournament, and he was tied for first among competing PAC golfers.

Brown shot a 74 across the 18 holes at the Westminster Fall Invitational on Monday, finishing two strokes behind the leader and in a three-way tie for second place overall with two of the top golfers in the PAC. His score of 74 puts him in a tie for the eighth-best round in program history, reaching that mark in his collegiate debut. The freshman registered three birdies and 10 pars on the afternoon to narrowly edge out Geneva senior Ryan Edwards for the top score on the team.

Brown and Edwards will head to Ohio this weekend to compete in the Malone Fall Classic, hosted by Malone University. That tournament will take place over Friday and Saturday, September 4^th and 5^th, and will consist of 36 holes total.
