NEWVILLE, Pa. – One week after winning their opening meet of the season, the Geneva men's cross country team put together another impressive performance at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational on Saturday morning. The Golden Tornadoes finished in third place as a team and first among competing Division III programs, accumulating 34 points to come in ahead of strong Division III teams such as Elizabethtown, Dickinson, and Marywood.

Once again, it was Matt Otto leading the pack for Geneva in the 8k race, with the junior taking sixth place overall and finishing third among Division III athletes with a time of 26:28.7. Freshman Tyler Caron, the reigning PAC Newcomer of the Week, was not far behind him, crossing the line in 26:48.0 to claim 12^th place overall. Sophomore Drew Steffler was the third finisher for the men, crossing the finish line in 21^st but moving up to 16^th in the final results due to some of the Division II schools already having more than five runners across.

Freshman Aiden Tanner and sophomore Xaver Alexander also ran good races, finishing in the top 30 and recording times of 28:02.9 and 28:08.5, respectively.

In addition to the Golden Tornadoes' performance in the 8k race, they also had multiple runners compete in Dickinson's 4k race, with junior Ethan Haring taking fifth place overall to lead the way for the men in that competition.

The GTs will have a two-week break before their next meet, the Youngstown State Invite. That race will take place on Saturday, September 26, starting at 10:00 a.m.
