VIENNA, Ohio – The Geneva women's golf team finished up their fall season on Tuesday, competing at Avalon Country Club at Squaw Creek on the second day of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Fall Championships. As a team, the women shot a 417, improving upon their score from the first day by 14 strokes. They sit in ninth place at the conclusion of the fall rounds, with Westminster maintaining its lead from yesterday.
Again, it was sophomore
Madison Sharek who shone for the women on Day Two of the tournament. After shooting a solid four over par on the front nine, she slowed down a little bit following the turn, but ended the day with a bang by chipping in from the bunker to secure a birdie on the eighteenth hole. The birdie gave her a score of 82 on the day, matching her total from Day One and placing her third overall across all 49 competing golfers. She heads into the break just four strokes out of first place.
The next two finishers for Geneva were mirror reflections of yesterday, with freshman
Onika Alonzi and junior
Sydney Peasley finishing the round in 29
th and 38
th place, respectively. Alonzi matched her score from yesterday, carding a 100, while Peasley's score of 106 was seven strokes better than yesterday's mark. Junior
Jayme Flock was the fourth golfer for Geneva.
The round was the final one of the semester for the Golden Tornadoes, who will pick things back up in the spring. Rounds three and four of the Championships will take place in late April.
