BOARDMAN, Ohio – Sophomore Madison Sharek finished up her standout campaign for the Geneva women's golf team with a second-place finish in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Golf Championships, with the final round played Saturday at the Mill Creek Golf Course. That's the highest individual finish at a PAC Championship in program history.
Sharek got off to a great start through her first nine holes, with a birdie and a bogey for even par through the first half of the round. She finished the round with a 5-over 77, her best total through the four rounds of golf, two occurring at the end of the fall season and the final two rounds played this weekend. Her four round-score was 323, nine strokes behind Westminster's Katie Rose Rankin, who won the title. Sharek earned First Team All-PAC honors for her performance.
Juniors Sydney Peasley and Jayme Flock, along with sophomore Onika Alonzi, rounded out the foursome for the Golden Tornadoes. Alonzi finished 30th, Peasley 32nd and Flock 38th in the four-day tournament.
Saturday's round is the final one of the season for the women, who are set to return everyone from this year's roster that competed at the PAC Championships.
