GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Geneva women's golf program kicked off its spring season Thursday afternoon by competing in the Grove City Invitational, hosted by Grove City College. The tournament featured seven different Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) schools including Geneva, as well as Marietta College and Division II Seton Hill.
Sophomore
Madison Sharek was the top golfer for Geneva, shooting a 90 across the 18 holes to tie for 14
th place overall in the tournament. Her round was highlighted by a birdie on hole seven, one of two birdies on the day for the Golden Tornadoes, with freshman
Onika Alonzi recording the other one on hole 13. Alonzi was the second-best finisher for Geneva, carding a 105, while junior
Sydney Peasley placed third for the women with a score of 110.
The Golden Tornadoes will play their next round at their home course, with both the women's and men's teams set to host the Geneva Spring Opener next Monday, March 30, at Connoquenessing Country Club.
