Zanic Named Player of the Year, Five Others Win All-PAC Awards

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – It was a very successful evening for the Geneva softball program, who saw six of their players honored with postseason awards by the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Wednesday night. At the front of the group was shortstop Lexi Zanic, who was named the PAC Player of the Year following her stellar junior season. Additionally, Zanic was named to the All-PAC First Team alongside graduate student Julia Hart, while junior McKenzie Rapp and sophomore Molly Shelley earned Second Team All-PAC honors. Juniors Sophia Tvaroch and Justine Robbins rounded out the group with Honorable Mention All-PAC recognition.

Zanic wins the Player of the Year award after putting together a career-best campaign. She has started every one of Geneva's 43 games this year and has already set career-highs in batting average (.411), runs (44), hits (53), RBIs (34), and stolen bases (18), with more games yet to play at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) World Series. She placed in the top ten in the PAC in each of those statistical categories, as well as on-base percentage, making for a very well-rounded season offensively. In the field, Zanic played well at shortstop, providing a solid presence in the middle of the infield throughout the season. She is the first Geneva player to win PAC Player of the Year since Sarah Johnson earned the award in 2023.

Geneva's other First Team All-PAC selection, first baseman Julia Hart, earned the honor for her third consecutive season. Hart has broken two Geneva records already this season, setting the program marks for most career doubles and RBIs, and she has the potential to tie or break two more at the NCCAA World Series. So far this year, she has launched 11 home runs and notched 49 RBIs, both tops in the PAC. She is batting .378 on the season and is now up to 56 career doubles and 161 career RBIs.

Shelley and Rapp were the All-PAC Second Team selections for the women. Shelley gets the honor for the second year in a row after making a massive impact offensively batting leadoff for Geneva this season. She led the PAC in hits (63), runs scored (58), triples (6), stolen bases (44) and slugging percentage (.741), and finished in the top five in both batting average (.429) and home runs (6). Rapp came on this season as a top-level pitcher for the Golden Tornadoes, going 15-6 across the year with a career-best 2.26 ERA in 111.2 innings pitched. She has struck out 66 batters this season and is currently tied for the program's career saves record with 15.

Tvaroch's Honorable Mention selection is the first All-PAC award of her career. She is 11-6 this season with a 2.83 ERA, and has struck out 89 batters. Robbins gets her second consecutive All-PAC award with her selection, hitting .382 on the season with five home runs and 36 RBIs, both top ten in the PAC.

In addition to the all-conference awards, the PAC announced their Sportsmanship Team Wednesday night, with Geneva senior Megan Gray being acknowledged on the list.
