LATROBE, Pa. – Sophomore Madison Sharek continued her excellent play to start the school year when, on Monday afternoon, she bested 42 other golfers to win the Saint Vincent Fall Invitational, hosted at Latrobe Country Club.
Sharek was steady throughout her round, finishing with an 82 overall. She birdied the fourth hole, a par three, early in the round, and had only one double bogey. She added seven pars and defeated her nearest competitor by two strokes.
Sophomore Sydney Peasley and freshman Onika Alonzi also completed the round for the Golden Tornadoes. Alonzi finished with a 107, while Peasley carded a 121 on her round.
The women will be back in action Monday in the two-day California (PA) Vulcan Invitational.
