Sharek Named PAC Player of the Week Following Performance at YSU

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – After opening the fall golf season with a bang by shooting a 79 at the YSU Kickoff on Monday, Geneva women's golf star Madison Sharek was awarded the Presidents' Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor. The reigning PAC Newcomer of the Year, Sharek picked up right where she left off from last season, as her score was the fourth-best in program history, and good enough to tie her for sixth overall at the event.

Sharek remained remarkably consistent throughout the entire tournament at YSU, shooting a 40 on the front nine and a 39 on the back. She finished the round as the top Division III golfer participating in the Kickoff, two strokes ahead of any other DIII golfer present, including many PAC athletes.

Geneva women's golf returns to the course this Saturday, September 6th, at the Thiel Invitational. The tournament is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
