GREENWOOD, Ind. – Seven Geneva College men's and women's tennis players were honored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday for their strong performances both on the court and in the classroom, earning Academic All-District honors for this past season.
To receive this distinction, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically while holding a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. Players must also have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games or been a starter in at least 66 percent of their contests.
From the women's team, seniors Lauren Estes and CeJaelyn Perednia, junior Rachel Hodsden and sophomore Chloe DeSanzo were named Academic All-District selections. For Estes and Perednia, this is the third straight year they have been honored by the CSC, the most possible for a college athlete.
On the men's side, senior Owen Landis, junior Thayne Bodenmiller and sophomore Ben Busler were honored as Academic All-District selections. For Bodenmiller and Landis, this is the second time they have been recognized by the CSC.
