BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC), in conjunction with the PAC Sports Network, announced its women's soccer postseason awards on Wednesday evening, including the all-conference teams. Four players from the Geneva women's soccer program were recognized for their accomplishments by receiving Honorable Mention All-PAC honors, all for the first time in their careers: senior
Anna Ulmer, junior
Noelle Beare, and freshmen
Natalie Foster and
Cassidy Stopchick.
Ulmer, who started 50 matches for the Golden Tornadoes over the course of her four years at Geneva, was an anchor all season long defensively. She played a total of 1,541 minutes this season, third-most on the team, and played a critical role in helping the women post nine shutouts over the course of the season. She was joined in the center of the defense by Stopchick, who came on this year as a freshman and played all but 11 minutes across the GTs' 18 matches. Both women shone on defense but also made impacts offensively, with Ulmer notching a goal and Stopchick an assist.
Beare has started all but one match across her first three seasons at Geneva, this year switching periodically between the midfield and the back line. She finished second on the team in minutes played, recording 1,559 over the 18 matches, while also scoring the game-winning goal in the season-opener against Juniata. In addition to that goal, she recorded two assists on the year.
Finally, Foster won the starting goalkeeper job in the preseason and was a force for the women in net, starting all but one game there. Even as a freshman, she quickly made her mark on the Geneva record books by recording eight shutouts on the year, the third-most in a single season in program history. She ended the regular season second in the PAC with 112 saves, and third in both save percentage (.862) and goals against average (1.07).
In addition to these four players, junior
Madalyn Fales was named to the PAC Sportsmanship Team. Fales came on as a starter about a quarter of the way into the season, playing in the center of the midfield. She scored one goal, the game-winner against Westminster, and assisted on two more.
