BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – Freshman goalkeeper
Natalie Foster continues to impress in her first season in net for the Geneva women's soccer program, recording her fifth and sixth shutouts of the year last week against W&J and Westminster. Her strong play earned her the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Defensive Player of the Week award, four weeks after she was named the PAC Newcomer of the Week on September 1
st.
Foster was at the top of her game throughout the first week of PAC play, leading Geneva to the top of the conference standings with an unblemished 2-0 record. She made eight saves in the GTs' win over W&J on Tuesday, including one off a shot from point-blank range with just 17 minutes to go to preserve the women's advantage. She then followed up that performance with a three-save effort at Westminster on Saturday, collecting her sixth shutout to tie her for sixth place in the record book for most shutouts in a season by a Geneva women's soccer goalkeeper.
The Golden Tornadoes will be tested in their next match, a 7:00 p.m. home contest versus preseason favorite Grove City on Tuesday, September 30
th. The women have not defeated Grove City since 1999.
