Geneva College Athletics

Edna George

George was the founding mother of Geneva College women’s athletics.  In 1916, George, the college’s librarian, was made responsible for women’s athletics, and she went on to coach women’s basketball while also creating an outstanding intramural program for women.  She also directed the May Day celebrations each spring.
