John Schmitt (1995-98)

John Schmitt was a three-time NAIA All-American football stand-out for the Golden Tornadoes, he also garnered NCCAA All-American status in 1998. During his career he helped guide Geneva to three Mid-States Football Association titles as well as a win in the 1998 NCCAA Victory Bowl. Schmitt is regarded as one of the finest defensive players to ever wear the Gold and White. For his career, Schmitt compiled 135 solo tackles, 56 tackles for loss and 31 sacks. He ranks second on Geneva’s all-time list for both tackles for loss and sacks.
